New features on the COVID-19 interactive portal

30.03.2020 | Zagreb

GDi has developed a free version of the web portal that gives users a clear insight into the spread of Coronavirus.

The interactive portal provides regularly updated information on confirmed cases in Croatia, as well as cured and passed away, and the total number of tested cases – with a spatial dimension. The portal collects data from all relevant health care organizations and monitors all changes related to virus monitoring by the Civil Protection Headquarters of the Republic of Croatia.

In addition, new functionalities are regularly added. Users can now see the number of tests, links to European and world portals, graphs for positive and cured cases by days has been added.

From other portals of the same topic, adjusted data is available for Austria, Serbia, France, Italy, Germany, Poland, Slovakia, Spain, Switzerland, United Kingdom, Slovenia, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Sarajevo Canton, Northern Macedonia, Australia, New Zealand as well as Hong Kong, Canada and the World Health Organization portal.

How does the portal work?

The entire platform works using a combination of GDi technology and the world’s leading configurable geoinformation platform (ArcGIS), specifically the ArcGIS Dashboard. This technology is Cloud based and configurable for all types of devices (computers, tablets and mobile phones). The portal automatically collects data from several different sources, selects relevant ones for Croatia and presents them to users so that they can keep track of the situation.

Who is the portal for? How long will it be in operation?

The portal is intended for all citizens of the Republic of Croatia, the media and the civil service to help manage the crisis. Its aim is to inform the public of different aspects of the crisis. It helps and tries to influence their adherence to the necessary rules of conduct. It will be upgraded and modified as needed and will remain current until further notice.
