Support, Operations Management and QA Engineer  (m/f)

At the GDi SMCO department located in Zagreb, Croatia we have an opening for GDi Support, Operations and QA Engineer to support users, in highly competitive industries throughout the world.

 Location: Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Zagreb, Croatia

 Travel: Occasional travel to customer sites in Europe / EMEA

Job Description:

Main activities include:

  • Client system operations monitoring, constant optimization and performance issues resolution
  • System add-ons and upgrade deployment planning, testing for supportability, documentation
  • Installation and troubleshooting of complex IT solutions in enterprise environment
  • Occasional installation/reinstallation and complete test laboratory setup for various testing and ‘testing in development’
  • Occasional installation, reinstallation and complete testing, development systems configuration / reconfiguration on client side in support of customer upgrades, updates, new deployments
  • Testing support, UAT support
  • Operational support and system maintenance
  • Debugging and troubleshoting of customer issues by phone, email or on-site, at various levels of complexity
  • Using ticketing and colaboration tools to manage issues and recommending changes to improve the effectiveness of support procedures
  • Cooperation with GDi Products and GDi Professional Services department in development, support, testing and quality assurance of new GDi Products
  • Identifying and communicating feature requests to systems engineering and GDi Product management
  • Identifiying and participating in product, technology, and process improvements
  • Periodical work during non-standard working time (24/7).
  • Occasional travelling to various locations worldwide, according to business needs such as conferences or customer demonstrations.
  • Proficient use of IP based communication and web conferencing technologies such as Skype, Go-to-meeting and Go-to-webinar.
Requirements:
  • Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Computer Science or related technology sciences
  • Basic Knowledge of systems and network administration (AD, TCP/IP, DNS, IIS )
  • 3+ years of experience in IT support, software deployments and /or integration
  • Basic understanding of most popular database engines is an advantage (MSSQL, Oracle, MySql)
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure (Azure) is an advantage
  • Understanding of DevOps methodology is an advantage
  • Strong application analysis and issue resolution (troubleshooting) skills
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills with ability to work effectively and provide feedback to customers
  • Proficiency in English language, fluent oral and written communication
  • Professional attitude and relationship with internal and external clients and colleagues
  • Initiative and collaboration skills to achieve business goals
