At the GDi COMS department located in Zagreb, Croatia, we have an opening for Systems and Cloud Operations Engineer (m/f) to support users, in highly competitive industries throughout the world.
A System Operations Engineer (m/f) needs to understand the architecture of the client-specific applications we support, as well as working knowledge of the underlying platform (cloud and on-premises). Our opening provides an excellent opportunity for those looking to get into the cloud computing space and to participate on one of our many innovative projects involving high-profile clients.
Job related tasks:
Client system operations monitoring, constant optimization and performance issues resolution.
System add-ons and upgrade deployment planning, testing for supportability, documentation.
Installation and troubleshooting of complex IT solutions in enterprise environment (cloud and on premise).
Operational support and system maintenance.
Testing support, UAT support.
Cooperation with GDi Products, Devices and Implementation teams in implementation, integration, support and quality assurance of new GDi Products as part of the agile project teams (DevOps environment).
Periodical work during non-standard working time (24/7).
Proficient use of IP based communication and web conferencing technologies such as Skype and Microsoft Teams.
Requirements / preferred qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science or related technology sciences.
At least 3 years of proven experience in IT support, configuration and provisioning of software and hardware equipment.
Proven working experience in installing, configuring and troubleshooting Windows and Linux based environments.
Experience in the administration and performance tuning of application stacks (IIS, Apache Tomcat).
Knowledge of systems and network administration (AD, TCP/IP, DNS).
Basic scripting skills (e.g., shell scripts).
Knowledge of Virtualization, Cloud concepts and technologies (e.g. Azure).
Strong application analysis and issue resolution (troubleshooting) skills.
Excellent written and oral communications skills with ability to work effectively and provide feedback to customers, senior level managers and vendors.
Proficiency in English language, fluent oral and written communication with clients worldwide (telecom companies, system integrators, e-government).
Professional attitude and relationship with internal and external clients and colleagues.
Experience gained by working in large and global enterprises and teams is an advantage.
